From the outset, we streamline the path to onward progress from early stage development. For example, we can help you achieve proof of concept with a powder-filled capsule then rapidly transfer the formulation to a quick-release tablet with minimal change. This allows your project to keep moving forward quickly.
Our range of immediate-release tablet formulation methods and technologies includes:
- Coated and uncoated tablets.
- Bilayer tablets.
- Mini-tablets.
- Fast dispersal tablets.
- Sublingual tablets.
- All of these are available in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Tablet Compaction Simulation:
Compaction simulation is a well-established way of investigating potential manufacturing problems for tablets in both early stage development and process optimisation. At Quay Pharma, we use a state-of-the-art, single-punch press to replicate and analyse the pre-compression, compression and ejection phases of manufacture under conditions identical to a unit producing up to 300,000 tablets per hour. This allows us to understand how your formulation will behave in manufacture without granulating large batches of expensive material. This not only saves you a great deal of money, it is of particular benefit in allowing investigation at an early stage of development, when the quantities of API may be limited.
Our Tablet Compaction Simulation can also be valuable in later stage development for assessing your product’s behaviour in different full-scale tablet presses. For more information on this, see the Compaction Simulation case study.
